Just heard this on the news and Wikipedia.
"On 26th April 2007, NME Website reported that due to the recent changes in UK Singles Chart Rules which allowed any song purchased online to be counted towards the rundown, the entire album may appear in the top 200."
Crazy.

And when they play live, they play their "tuning" song after every sodding track for 5mins or so, saying that they aren't even that good live..

Not everyone is bound to like them, doesn't stop them getting to number one though does it?
Good luck to them, would rather see them topping the charts than some of these other piss poor bands & groups that are about today

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not has to be one of my all time favorite albums, i really like it. Not feeling the new one at the moment, probably expecting too much.

"Ask if we can have six in
If not we'll have to have two
Well you're coming up at our end aren't you
So I'll get one with you
Oh, won't he let us have six in
Especially not with the food
He could have just told us no though
He didn't have to be rude"
and
"Drunken plots hatched to jump it, ask around are ya sure?
Went for it but the red light was showing
And the red light indicates doors are secured"
Brilliant, that is what happens on almost every night out

And she won't be surprised, no she won't be shocked
When she's pressed the star after she's pressed unlock
And there's verse and chapter sat in her inbox
And all that it says is that you've drank a lot
Another good one that I bet most people can relate to

bit below the belt that, as i doubt very little is influenced by class and money
Eitherway, there big headed tossers to be frank - they believe they got to where they are now just because of there site and myspace, which is a lot of shite (they had managers from the start).
lee - no offence but they were shite at leeds, even reel big fish (99% sure it was them) took the piss out of them with their own version of the "tuning" song

I thought it was 18 songs in the top 200 singles? I don't really like this new chart system, as downloaded album tracks aren't really "singles" at all.
I feel left out, I didn't hear any tuning songs when I saw them in Glasgow. They were awseome live tho!
Although I do agree they are big headed but so were Oasis and I loved them too, that's just my style of music. Big headedness is part of what makes them I guess.

What has their 'bigheadedness' got to do with their music anyway?

They're good but they're not the defining bad of a generation like a lot of people think imo.
I don't think Matt is being harsh either, if you can't relate to music it's just a voice and some instruments
