Had a game of Texas Hold'em last night and i got a royal flush for the first time! I had never even seen one before that and i've been playing regular for 2 years. Anyone else had one?
The odds on hitting a royal flush are 1 in 649,740 by the way.

They used to have a rolling money counter that was up to millions in the casino I went for anyone that landed a royal flush against the dealer.
I only know of someone winning it once.

my mate got one online in a real money game, we were all round his flat, we all went crazy because we were hoping someone would go up against him, but sods law went round the table, some guy raised a little and most of them folded, so my mate had royal flush and won like $20
i've been 1 card away a few times, its annoying because you get suckered into it, i went all in with like $200 on last card hoping I would get it (i didn't)

In our pub we set a rule a couple of years ago that if anyone gets a royal flush the game ends and you take the pot. There were 6 of us in the game last nite and we had £10 each in the pot so i took £60. One guy was a little pissed off as he was major chip leader but he took it well as it was the first time any of us had seen one.
I hit it on the flop too! Q A hearts in my hand. Flop came 10 J K hearts. I even took a picture on my phone! sad cunt!

Exactly... the other players suddenly notice you raise the bet, look at the selection of cards out on the flop and think 'hmm if he had Card A and Card B - he will have a royal flush! I have 2 of a kind, not worth me gambling - FOLD'.
As said you make most money when someone thinks they have a great hand, but you have one slightly better - they go all in and boom. You win. Nothing like that feeling of taking someone down, who's just put ALL their money in and lost.
knowing they're gonna be sitting at their pc punching the wall lol in a rage.
Either way I couldn't hack it anymore, online poker = too stressful as it's luck really and to make any money you have to gamble a lot, and at the right time's and it's very easy to get carried away and lose your money (i.e. feeling you need to bet on something as you've not had a decent hand for ages... or visa versa).

it's all about discipline with poker. Just because you haven't won a hand for a while doesn't mean one isn't coming up. Just make sure that when you win you try and win big and don't make it obvious to others by betting silly amounts (ie. bet smaller amounts and gradually reel them in and get more money from them through the Turn and River).
Dan, I'd be up for it providing i can sort the wireless out. Either that or i just sit downstairs where the signal is really strong
