todays phonecall to vaux after going down last night after they had closed to look at the VXR in the carpark:

me: I came in the other day to look at a corsa VXR

sales woman: yes, would you like to book in to come and see it?

me: no I would like some prices, availability and to book a test drive.

sales woman: well you are welcome to come and look at it, I might even be able to let you sit in it if we ask the manager

me: well I dont really want to sit in it, but I do want a test drive!

woman: well we arent doing them for another 12 weeks, but you are better off ordering the car now to avaid a long waiting time and dissapointment

me: so you will let me buy one, but not drive one

woman: thats right

me: goodbye.

Probably better off to go down there, i bet they've had a lot of timewasters simply phoning up to book a test drive with no intention of buying.

They have probably heard about your dodgy V Sport antics! She might of been new, we have a new administrator and she has said some shocking things to people on the phone! I just sit here and cringe hoping it's not a client!

well its tough shit really, you arent going to know if someones serious or not just by looking at them, and they certainly arent going to spend that kind of money on a small car withouth driving the bloody thing.

vauxhall dealers need to get off their high horse, its a bloody vauxhall at the end of the day.

wouldnt have a clio, ever. plus the fact that my 8 year old corsa is a fair bit quicker than the new clio sport....... plus I could fit some AP 4 pots tp the corsa VXR for not a lot of money, if its true that the brakes arent up to it, which I doubt very much, infact people probably say that because vaux havnt put some brand named 4pots on and just assume they arent up to the job.

its alos a fact that a single piston sliding caliper has the same clamping force as a 4 pot caliper......

I think ive fit a nerve. I was mearly saying the renault is a better car. At this point i would like to point out that i havent driven the new vxr, although neither has dave A. I was basing my judgement on a drive in the cliosport and the fact that total vauxhal dont rate the vxr brakes at all. from what ive heard total vaux know a thing or two about cars.

To be fair, TV were blatting round a track at full pelt all day.

The Clio would have suffered from brake fade in exactly the same way under those circumstances.
