Yep, great place to have your filter bung up with shit in a few weeks. Then you have to take the bumper off to clean the element. Not thought about properly IMO.

would probably need to be cleaned on a weekly basis, which is a lot of hassle.

I dont think its clever at all, all those bends arent going to do anything for the air flow. It wil be cold though at least.

Probably. It would be a good place to put it for trackdays, strips etc. Not for normal driving.

Depends on the car. On a corsa, there wouldn't be too many bends. Only two or three.

EDIT - If it had an aftermarket inlet.

this have been used on civics for over a year now!! only have the pipework on one side tho!!
have got good gains aswell!!!

wouldnt it be in a primary position to suck up exhaust fumes from the car infront? surley that cant be good

What about the fact that by the time the air goes through all that metal tubing in the engine bay it will be hot anyway!

It's purely for the looks! And it looks pathetic! It's worse than an alluminium radiator / intercooler trick!

This is has been about for years. Definatly not new.

The previous styled ones only came with 1 air feed into the inlet manifold, not 2 into 1.

If your going to track a car, its a great idea. Just insulate the tubing in heat wrap and your sorted.

Or just get throttle bodies and not worry about it.

I meant when they are used to look like intercoolers, ie i had a mate with a mk4 xr3i and his rad looked like an intercooler!

I know someone who had similar thing on his renault 5 turbo (was literally an airfilter not a FM intercooler (he had a top mount).

Looks a bit stupid imo.

I wasn't saying it hasn't, but my mate only had it as a lok a like intercooler to complete his RST replica, but it just got laughed at.
