I know a few people on here have had/have one of these, and just wondering what they are like to own?
What are they like to drive? Costs of running? Quickness?
Its time for me to start saving a bit of cash for a house, so my Lupo needs to go, and i've seen a tidy one in a local garage that looks like a good deal, going to have a look at it Saturday but just need a bit of background inforamation really.
And yes, before anyone starts I know this is CORSAsport, but I cant be arsed to register on SSC just to get a totally biased opinion on them.
Cheers

i cant comment on the speed really.
Handling is great, brakes are good again IMO, gearbox is a bit sloppy but with a bit of tweaking can be great, mine is now..>
Speedwise there the same as a corsa sport/ gsi 1.6

Cheers chaps
Not overly bothered about them being lightening quick, dont really drive like that anymore anyways TBH.
Only thing that is putting me of slightly is the chavy image they carry..........

most small car's have a chavvy image about them, saxo's fiesta's corsa's 106's 206's civic's etc combine that with drivers aged under 25..... the only way to get away from the chavvy image is with bigger cars such as mondeos/vectra's (kept standard)
on the topic, my mate has had 2 saxo vtr's, 1st was a phase 1 and the 2nd a phase 2, not got either anymore but he would deffinatly have another one, i never drove it but it appeared to handle well and was pretty nippy off the mark

I have a 106 gti, as a drivers car it is fantastic.
As an everyday car for me i have started to hate it.
This is due to me using it to pick up temps (i'm a recruitment consultant) and being 6ft 2 and built quite well it's just not practical! other reasons will not be related such as i find on long journeys that it's not designed for cruising but i can't imagine a vtr would be any better!
I find it uncomfortable, too small and very tiny.
This is just my opinion.

My advice would be to buy something else! This is it's only crudential tbh. Nothing practical imo.

space inside you can! My mum has an Arosa (same as lupo) and in that my head doesn't rest on the roof, i don't need the seat right back and my knees don't hit the steering wheel!

I know, cabin space is suprisingly big in't Loop
Guess i'd have to have a sit in the VTR and see how much room I had as im just over 6ft.

I had a Furio (next best thing)
I had mine 18 months, and it was fantasic, not one problem.
I'm still un-decided weather i liked it more than my 1.6 sport. But that's another story.
IMO the gearbox is about 1000x better than te SHITE Corsa ones. That the accelerator is nicer to operate, although the Pedals are pretty damn close together.
I'd have another Saxo in a heartbeat.

I've had 3 Saxo's. mk1s and a mk2 I loved them, great fun, much more fun than my corsa's! Good on fuel, quite nippy (mk2 I found noticably quicker) and they look nice standard
