protein supplment thats about it you can try creatine and glutamine ect plus all the other bucket load of crap magazines try to sell you but there is no good replacment for wholesum food.

Its simple if you want to bulk up you take in more calories than you burn.

So eat more lol easiest thing to do.

if your not going to look into having a good diet to help you then its probably pointless thinking about taking supplements.

Sort the diet then think about the supplements otherwise you'll never get and decent gains.

bulking its by no means an easy task to do. You need to be eating around 5 meals a day and be strict with yourself, No shit food, Supplements such as Whey Protein, MRP's , Dextrose & l-Glutamine for recovery, along with creatine which can help with strength gains but does not respond to everyones bodies.

Maybe posting your workout routine and i could help further

TBH pointless if he wont commit to a decent diet.

Regardless of what supplements or routine he is doing, he wont see decent gains until he sorts it!

to see any gains it is recommended to eat 2g of protein to every kg of body weight each day.

and the majority of this should come through food sources.

So just having one or two shakes a day will give you some decent protein intake, but it isnt the sort he will need and the rest of his diet will probably just be putting fat on.

yup it is not an easy task, plus 5 times a week to the gym seems a little like overtraining unless it is one day weights one day cardio?.

5 days weight training will not give the muscles chance to develop ,recover and most importantly GROW

just search back a few weeks, we have covered this to death, so you will find all the answers you are lookin for there! but as cosmo said, until you sort out ur diet, you wont really see any gains, its not just attending the gym that makes ya look good, your diet is about 60% of the whole thing!! bloody hard work!

Don't bother with supplements. Just eat healthily. Really isn'nt a good idea taking all these protein supplements. I don't care what the gym boys on here say.

if you a fairly skinny chap... then try Cyclone from maximuscle (aint cheap)

but has 10g creatine 10g glutamine(sp) and i think 3000mg HMB plus 60g protein

its one of the best "all in one" jobbies
