Dislikes: steering could have more heft – and a bit more feel would be nice

What the fuck does that even mean?!

For Steve: -

There, as standard, is a pair of terrific clamshell-back Recaros. Frankly, they are brilliant.

6 speed gearbox on that engine, anyone think it might be compatible with other engines seeing as its small block engine?

lol.

The Head of VXR Brand at the preview evening said something like "Ford have a competitor, the Fiesta ST {pause} anyway..." and moved on as he said the Fiesta ST there was a faint laughter from everyone there.

He did mention the Clio and how it is the main competitor of the Corsa. He didn't say anything comparing it to performance, only styling & price.

No-one was arguing that the Clio wasn't a competitor. My point was about the Fiesta not being...

Or was it another case of arguing for the sake of it?

yes i know, but deano says this guy said the corsa has a competitor <pause> the fiesta ST, obviously trying to be sarcastic and funny.

I was pointing out, that notice he didnt use a serious competitor when making it attempt at being funny. Im talking about the vxr guy here not robin btw

Its blatently obvious that this car is better than the Clio, on price, looks, performance everything, you now need to let it go and admit that at this moment in time Vauxhall have the best hot hatc on the market.

I should have explained the context. He went off on a tagent, explaining that the Clio is the closest competitor. Then said the Cooper S is a close competitor but people tend to buy for the image etc rather than performance, then he says "Ford has a competitor...". He said it almost like an afterthought, that he'd forgot Vauxhall's main brand competitor, which is undoubtedly Ford.
