Basically i've decided to start reading again but i haven't got the foggiest what to start reading. I've read alot of the "modern classics" such as high fidelity, 1984 (if thats classed the same) etc but was wondering about any other good reads i could dabble in. i'm open to all genres, suggest away please
my tip is a book called "christ stopped at eboli" a story of a man that was outcast by the fascist party in Italy during the second world war. simple but a very good interesting read

Nick Hornby- A long way down (funny)
Dave Eggers- A heartbraking Work Of staggering Genius (very funny, great book).
Mark Haddon-The curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime(funny again)
Dan Brown-Angels And Demons
Dan Brown- Deception Point
Dan Brown- The Davinci Code (i enjoyed it)
Give the first three consideration, they're all good

i've recently enjoyed three autobiographies
Gordon Ramsey - Humble Pie
Peter Kay - The Sound of Laughter
Chris Moyles - The Gospel according to Chris Moyles
loved them all.
GR was blunt and very much in his style.
PK was like a rolling stand up kept going off subject on tangents but a laugh every few pages
CM was like a radio link, has no set structure (ie starts at the beginning of his career, ends at Radio breakfast show) but makes for a really easy read. read the first 80 pages in my first sitting!

"His Dark Materials" trilogy are absolutely awsome.
By Phillip Pulman.. they are making a big hollywood trilogy out of this at the moment so its going to go ballistic pretty soon... great books... the film is likely to be pants.
the books are called The Northen Lights, The subtle Knife and the amber spyglass.
