Can't believe my eyes!

No one knows my paypal password, I only use that password for paypal and never log into my account other than in my own home!

Just recieved an email from paypal about suspicious activity in my account so froze it for my sake. But $1,015USD has already been transfered into a paypal@xoom.com account.

The money hasn't come out of my bank account yet (checked via internet banking). Can I ask the bank to prevent the transfer?

Has this happened to anyone before?

Can't believe what is happening, of on holiday on wednesday as well!

did u get one of them emails to confirm your login and password? but really your giving some random people your details to use your account and steal money

nah, I always log into paypal.co.uk to pay etc...
Don't even go via the email ebay invoices.

Just don't know how this is possible

I'd get on a another PC and change your passwords.

There could be a virus on your computer/laptop, which incorporates a keyboard logger. Every keystroke you make it records and sends the info to the culprit behind it. Therefore getting your details. Its a possibility.

Similar thing happened to my paypal but I had no money in it.

happened to me mate, had a trojan (although all AV was up to date) ring paypal, theyll sort it no probs

happened to me too about 18 months ago.
they took £220 out of my account.
rang bank asap and they said nothing had gone out, they froze my account asap so nothing could go out, not even let me take money out.
rang paypal, explained to them, they said they would investigate, took them about 10 days to do so.

i disagree, your telling me program that records key stokes can pick out the specific password and username for his paypal account

yes its a load of bollox

you would have to install something very specific for something to do that, would require your input to allow theinstall also, it couldnt install itself and operate like that

i know there are key loggers you chump, i have used them, but there are no such progmras that can migically install themselves on your pc and operate like that

it doesnt need to pick out specifics, it will just log everything. Then when you do go to paypal website it will be obvious what your email address and password for the site is. Its not a hard thing to do TBH.

Ring your bank first, as they will be quicker to act, and get them to either cancel that transaction, or freeze all of them for the time being. Then I would change all your passwords using another computer and get onto paypal about it.

no there arent, im a computer technician and support 1000's of pcs everyday in 256 sites around the county, i have been doing this for 7 years + i have never ever heard of any thing virus/trojan like that

show me some documented evidence on the web then warning of such programs?

a program or virus that installs itself without you knowing, records all your keylogs and then sends all that info back somewhere

the issue i have is not that a program cannot be made, it is that it cannot just appear on your machine without you specifically allowing it to install, ie opening an exe in an email, or accepting a download etc
