The murder trial of my friend starts tomorrow at my court. She was also my best mates girlfriend.
Im going to be taking the guy to court, going to feel a bit strange being handcuffed to him knowing what he done etc

Should you have to be involved in that bearing in mind that you knew the victim??

He strangled her, murdering her, wrapped her in his bed sheets and dumped her in a canal.

Fair enough. I know how it is everyone is expected to be professional at all times but at the end of the day we're only human. Just resist the temptation to give him a slap.

I would imagine due to you knowing her so well then you couldnt be involved in the case. As you could be a threat to hit safety

If you look at it like that, then i wouldn't have a job because i could be a threat to any prisoners safety. I don't exactly enjoy spending my days with child killers/rapists but i have to sit with them in court aswell. Im a local lad i know quite a few of the prisoners who come through the court.
My company know i knew the victim and they're ok with it, the accused has already been at the court at an earlier date regarding the case and i saw him then.

If he falls down the stairs then so do because i'll be handcuffed too him.
Im not going to be stupid, if i got a criminal conviction i'd lose both my jobs. I'd get sent down if i did anything too him also, you can just imagine it, a custody officer beating up a prisoner... in a crown court...

The temptation must me great though.....no doubt he will bait you on that.
I'm not sure I would be able to resist

End of the day Craig's right he'd end up in a world of. You saw the fuss the media made of the Police Officer who punched that woman outside a nightclub because she was resisting arrest. If he's already in custody unless he goes on one there is no real justification for using any force. Hopefully he'll get some serious time and there might be the opportunity for a parting comment.

Im not going to have a conversation with him so he wont know i knew her, to him i'll just be the custody officer assigned to him for court. He's on the nonces wing in prison because he's vulnerable so i dont expect any problems from him anyway.

Saying stuff like that is stupid. You wouldn't do anything like that. You are saying words without thinking. You would have to be a fucking idiot to assault somone, or kill them. Especially if you are work in a court surrounded by Police officers.
