basically my mate bought his g/f a phase 2 106 which came lowered and he didnt want it lowered and bought new springs etc to raise it back to standard.

i told him id sell the springs for him, advertised them on a local car site and sold them to a fella who came to my work to pick them up for 20 quid.

turns out the springs have been cut and wont fit into his car and stay in place. he called me last nite giving me grief about it but i told him they were definately in a 106 and basically told him it was nothing to do with me. he got me at a bad time.

and now hes calling me again tonite?? but i cant see why hes gettin so arsey. i sold him 106 springs for a bargain price. i didnt know anything about them and told him that before he bought them. second hand. sold a seen etc etc etc

wot do u guys think i should do???

i know, its doing my head in, i was only trying to do a favour...

i didnt even look at the springs. knew nothing about them. they were just left at the back of the workshop and when the guy came i lifted them and handed them to him...

i said that to him but he said they had tried that and the cable ties (approx 1cm thick had broken)

thinkin back when the suspension was gettin removed from the car my mate bought i think i remember seeing hose clips holdin them to the struts. 80% sure on this. would need to check with the guy who removed the suspension...

I'd give the guy his money back. If he fitted them and had an accident due to them being dodgy then it could come back on you. Its only £20 after all.

i think the issue is that when the spring has been cut the diameter of the bottom rings is way bigger than the spring pan where is sits on. i think, was still in work last night when he called and was under a load of pressure to get a car in the paintshop before i went home...

the springs are uprated things definately as they were red. have never saw an oe spring in red so i assume...

Fine get your mate to answer to him then when he arrives at your work, tbh your mate sounds like a plumb offering to 'kick his head in' over £20

for the sake of 20 notes it'd diffuse the situation. say to your mate that ypu've been made to look like a cunt and your not having it and that he owes you £20, whats he going to do kick your head in?

i dont think i should pay this guy 20 out of my own money when i dont have his 20 he gave me, if i did then yeah i would give him the money back for peace of mind.

guy in my work is a chav from the shankill road, one of the biggest shitholes in northern ireland that spawned the likes of jonny adair etc etc y work is full of guys like that unfortunately... hard as nails... ahem

explain to the bloke you sold em to the situation, stay calm, say you need to speak to "bill", if the fella still thinks it's worth his while to come down for £20 let him.

i already have xplained the situation
to the guy but he insists on coming into my work to get his money back from me. i have told him repeatadly (sp) that i will not be paying him money from my own pocket and that he is more than welcome to come and sort it out with the guy who owned the springs and has his money..

have already said second hand purchase etc, no warranty/. quarantee..

if he still doesnt let up then i think its time to say yeah go to the police/small claims etc

springs were sold as seen, nobody forced him to buy them

like buying a second hand car and not noticing that the car had previuosly been in an accident and repaired and then noticeing and looking your money back etc etc etc..
