well after my 210bhp rolling road run i had before (remember its a 1.6 with 185bhp standard), i decided a better run rolling road was in order, as the place it made 210bhp, well didnt seem to know exactly what they were doing and was a crap graph.

rolling road day at falkland peformance with a local site, the rollers had their annual calibration by a maha engineer from germany 2 days before, so pretty accurate! no cars made suspect power and they dont cheat with tapping brakes and such like (drag power on graph).

205bhp basically! all the car has is a spoon 4-2 in preperation for my spoon 2-1 downpipe, decat, spoon b pipe and spoon n1 next week, so its pretty much standard.

another ek9 was there with an aem long ram filter, 4-2-1 manifold, decat, and spoon n1, also a spoon ecu, made 198bhp

wonder what the hells been done to my car

oh and ignore oil temp figure, they couldnt get the gauge into the dipstick hole due to the manifold.

me too, nah should be good!

gonna take the airbox resonator off, spoon panel filter, 2-1, decat, middle pipe, back box, then run it at falkland again, then fit the spoon ecu, go a drive, come back, run it again, got a funny feeling the spoon ecu wont add much power, nothing worthwhile anyway.

just got no idea what engine spec the spoon ecu's are mapped for, it could be for some crazy modded track car.

if it makes 5+ bhp more then it'll stay on, under that i'll take it back out.

although it changes the vtec change points and how smooth it is, will need to see.

some pics courtesy of vibrio.

I found the Falkland rollers quite good too.

I made 196 @ fly, 154 @ wheels, and 207lbft.

Just need to wait and see what diff it makes then.. changing the v-tec points and a bit of smoothing could be worth it.

Good pics!

yeah, drove the other ek9, vtec comes in lower (cant remember what revs) and you hardly feel it change, only hear it. also revs to 9500 instead of 8900.

shite shite shite..Forgot all about this

Good results though..

And I have had all my cars on Kevins rollers and had good results every time...All on par of what they should be, IE not over inflated etc..Best rollers about IMHO...

no. far from it, estimated fly wheel power is actually a far better indication of what power you have, it takes into consideration everything that can effect a reading, i.e. temperature, atmos pressure, tyre pressure, grip levels.

granted if you put your foot on the brake itll mess it up etc. having spent a bit of time using rolling roads, and working work people who have demonstrated the effects of spraying glue on the rollers to creat grrip, it alterered the wheel figure by 5bhp by the corrected figure was .5bhp different......

well my best time was 15.01, struggled to get the launch right, nearly got it in the end, best time was my last run at first it was either wheelspinning in vtec or taking forever to move out of vtec! could get a high 14 if i kept trying. will be back up on a non mag day and get more runs in with all my spoon stuff on
