hi guys im gutted my corsa is off the road at the min because last night after leaving the gym i was waiting to pull out of the entrance,a car was parked on the path on the right hand side totally blocking my view so as you do i started creeping forward bit by bit bare in mind i must have been only doin 2mph and suddenly a pajero jeep comes from no where as i was pulling out and i directly hit the rear wheel of the jeep,so the man in the jeep pulled in just a few yards down the road,at first i thought about just driving off but my front bumper was scraping along the ground and i wud not of gettin know where like that so i just pulled up behind him and when i seen my front end i felt like crying but the most funny thing was there was not a mark on his jeep at all.

we did not exchange insurance details as there was no damage to his jeep, did i do the right thing?? and was this really my fault or just pure bad luck.

luckily the damage to my car seems to be just cosmetic

need new front bumper (facelift model 97 onwards)
and slam panel or bumper protector (long black piece of metal that is fitted on with just 4 bolts) thats directly behind the bumper that took all the impact
and left and right side of the under bumper black panels that goes around the under side of the wheels if you know what i mean its kinda hard to really explain it.

me and a friend have taken the front bumper and the slam panel or what ever you call it off and iv coverd the radiator up with a bin liner just to try help protect it from the bad weather

going to a local vauxhall scrap yard tomorrow hopein to find a corsa with rear end damage, but if anyone has anything thats above they can offer please u2u me.

pic of my car in my garage of what my car currently looks like (bottom of the page)

if u hit the back wheel you must have the reactions of a 92 year old parkinsons sufferer tbh.

and if theirs damage to the slam panel then i guess that indicates you were doing more than 2mph

edit: in the picture in your garage, is the mark on your front bumper anything to do with the crash or am i just seeing things?

the pic of my car at the bottom of the page does not have bumper on so i think u may bee lookin at the wrong pic mate also if you read it properly you will see that i was creeping forward out of the junction when he hit and to be honest he must have been doin about 40mph plus when we hit

Unlucky. I'd be happy the guy doesn't want to take any further action TBH.

Im worried by two things here,

Your reaction was slow enough you hit his back wheel, any slower and you would have missed him!

And secondly, You was gonna drive off?

Im sure one car wouldnt block your whole view. And if it did, whats wrong with pulling out the other way, and then finding somewhere to turn around?

And thinking of driving away? Thats clever aint it.
