Hi chaps
How much do you usually pay to get your car on the rollers?
My dads looking to get a set up at his new garage unit, give him a chance to expand his market and customer base. I think it would be successful, as there isnt one central to ipswich (i dont think) closest is the outskirts...and not many people know about it.
there's a fairly big modded car scene in EA, mainly bury, colchester....so it would be worth trying IMO.
Does £20-£25 a go sound reasonable? with discounts for larger groups/club events etc.

LPS in woodbridge lol
so if we can get the rollers set up for a decent price, £30, £65 for 3, and £25 for a large group wouldnt be out the question?

thing is, people dont mind paying the £££ when you've got an operator you can trust, thats why people will be loyal to guys such as chris todd, as they have ultimate trust in running there car with him etc
power run it what people are intrested in, but its the actual setting up and mapping etc that is where the £££ comes from, and also the main use of the RR, i have no idea what your dad does lugi, but he needs to think about can he map cars and provide accurate infomation on set-up

what you mean by trust jr? like being able to run it on the rollers with out damaging the car? or a matter of getting the most accurate results? is there any kind of training set up for people starting out, or would it be a matter of going down to a trusted rolling road and getting tips and advise...should imagine the software would be quite pricey.
just thinking aloud now

as for the re-mapping, don't think my dad would get into that. would it be pointless having a rolling road service without having a re-map, etc service to go along side it. my dad runs a couple of small garages, mot's, services etc, he makes enough money from it, just a matter of expansion ideas.

Well, if he could get into re-mapping modern ECU's he'd probably be onto a money maker. The only problem is that the equipment to do that and the maps apparently cost something like €15,000-€20,000... According to this TV show I watched once

Both, you have to trust the equipment, and the guy running it, otherwise you get alot of blown up cars on the rollers id imagine if people arent sure what there doing

pay for what you get, i paid £60 for a power run at powerstation, but then they do have a very good setup so know your getting decent results
pay £20 and youl probably gain an extra 10bhp

yeah that annoys me that some places do this, we paid 40 at surrey rolling road for the scooby but I assume 4x4 rolling roads are more expensive
