Hmmm, you can get the 1.6 SXI's with VXR type kit (all done by Vauxhall) if you wanted to save on insurance.
If you can go as high as a 2.0T, go for it then get the SRi/VXR type kit on it too
Personally, I like the 2.0T 5 doors.

i personaly dont like 5 doors so im guna stick with 3. i definatly want a vxr or sri kit on it but its hard to find them. 2.0T Design is group 13 wich isnt to bad. i dnt get how the 1.6T Design is group 14 and is quicker than the 2.0???

get a quote on both, Insurance groups dont always justify how much it will cost..
for example
quote ive had
306 gti 6...group 15 (£1600)
xsara vts...group 16 (£1350)
the 1.6t is slightly more economical too

Ideally get one with the exterior pack, which is all the irmscher bits and bobs. Interior is different on the designs. If you are'nt going for the 2.0t the only other decent option is the CDTI 150bhp imo.

1.9cdti u berk
same engine as the triple888 car, and its tuneable to the same spec,
you'd be silly not to invest in the diesel

1.6 T is clearly the better option than the 2.0 T.

I read that, as the 2.0T being SLOWER than a 1.6T in an Astra?

But the car is still the same size.
The size of the engine must be relative to the power it puts out - yes the 2.0T is a heavier engine BUT it surely has more power?

The 1.6T has 10bhp more, and will weigh less than the 2.0T, the 2 litre will have more torque though.
