I have a feeling I might have lost the VIN plate on my Corsa. Bugger. Is it possible to get a replacement one made up?

What stuff do they have on them? I could just get one engraved, but I guess if I were to sell the car I would really need an original, and the Police might not like it either. The chassis numbers are all intact though and that's the most important bit really.

Brett warburton had carbon ones.

they have the chassis number, paint code, engine number (i think) and some random weights on them too.

So the only relevent bit for my car would be the chassis number. Oh, I know they have the weight of the car and it's max towing load

Does anyone know what the other plate has pressed into it? I took that one off too and it was in the same bag as the VIN plate...

On new Corsa B's the VIN plate is a black sticker on the drivers door post (not sure of the name) - I started to panic when I couldn't find mine under the bonnet!

Have it engraved in perspex/similar, cut a section out of the slam panel, sit the perspex in the cutout, and backlight it so it glows where it's been engraved.

A simaler thing happened to me when i had my corsa so i wandered myself on down to the local Vaux garage with my V5 and the car and they happily charged me £90 +VAT for a nice shiny plate and some pop rivets!!

Nasty the things you have to do when selling a car!

Surely you can get some1 to do it alot cheaper and so long as it has the legit stuff it suppost to have it would be alright, unless obviously its been stolen but if you can prove its yours it should be alright shouldn't it?

I thought that also. Oh and I thought that it would fail an MOT without.

As mentioned, those that have never seen theirs since they bought the Corsa, check the drivers door pillar - it's like a black sticker, that's the VIN plate!
