me and a few mates are argues whether its good or bad to clean you car with Fairy Liquid!

I've done it recently jus to get the salt and dirt off.. and its come out REALLY well...

Anyone got any opinions on this?

It can strip the paint. Some cheap skates dilute it with water however.

some pikey hand car washes have been known to use washing up liquid.

Use is with caution!

I used to put a wee drop of dishwasher fluid with sparkle guard in the bucket, always came out well in my eyes, whether or not it was a placebo i don't know.

Its not advisable. Its best to use to strip a car of layers of wax and polish, before shampooing the car and reapplying a fresh coats of polish or wax.

No not advisable. And you can do a quick wash with wash and wax?!

Fairy Liquid is a detergent, yes it works well but everytime you use it your taking a fine layer of laquer of your paint. Use it 4 or 5 times and you might not have any laquer left!

Very bad idea.

I doubt its that abrasive but still not a good idea to use as it contains salt which corrodes everything eventually

As said it strips the wax, use a ph balanced decent shampoo that wont wash off your hours of hard work.
