rite since i have sold my interor i have a bit of money to spend.

i am back to the idea of turbo'n my car. if i ran it at low boost will the standard rods and pistons cope? i would get the bottom end rebuilt before the turbo went on.

one i like the sound and two i want more power

i have come to the end of the line with the things i can do unless i change to throttle bodies which i dont realy want to do as it means i have just wasted money on a mantzel, unichip and superchip.

Dave you dont get to say i told you so either..

Would be a weekend job wouldnt it not be putting a LET in? Other than that i would think it would take longer putting a turbo on the engine what you have the now as u would have to get it all set up ect wouldnt you not?

not realy, it would take one night to set it up and a couple of days to fit.

i would have to sell the bits of my engine then buy a descent c20let angine, fitting kit, etc... then get it fitted.

leo,

I told you so

and no, dont turbo it. by the time you get a turbo, management, remapping and make a manifold and piping etc... you will need low comp pistons and by that time you will have spent more than a decent tb setup and probably have less usable power and it WILL be unreliable.

true yes

but itll have fuck all torque non turbo'd at 200bhp
and if you did turbo it, itd cost lots, and fuck up often.

if it was reliable and a good idea everyone would have it done.

personally i'd have the let! for the money your spending the let has 200bhp, you like the sound plus it will have Soooooooo much more potential than a 1.6 turbo or 1.6 tb, not being funny once you have a 1.6 tb you would of come to the end, you'll get bored, c20let will keep you smiling, get bored, upgrade the turbo etc..... the potential from a let is endless.

xe/LET is not the best thing ever

IMO i'd still rather have a tb'd smallblock than a LET

sorry i forgot that a 1.6 corsa on tb's was the ultimate driving exp.

no its not the ultimate driving experience but you cant comment on a cars drivability or how long you will drive it until you are bored with it etc... until you have actually owned one. I admit that a corsa 1.6 on tb's isnt a great car but its one of the most fun things I have driven and not got bored of it in years of ownership.

giving people advice on the internet to look clever is easy but its also pointless if you dont have a clue what you are talking about.
