My ex gf's Dad used to drink and drive all the time, never mind just at Xmas....
I'll have one and drive if I am just out in the pub. If I am out for a meal or out for a few hours I'll maybe have 2.

A lot of people think 2 in quick succession is fine......over a couple of hours is more sensible.
The fact that 4M drivers take the risk not only for themselves but for people like us is scary.

Dean, I know I was merely saying that I agree, if you really must, do it over a few hours.

1 max, although I drove when I was steaming once not sure how I didn't crash n burn tbh.
Ex (gf at time) told me she was getting grief off lads in town and that she was on her own scared they were gonna do something. I'd never do it again was just young and silly

I use to have one, but a freind got banned recently so do not drink at all if I am driving now, or not a heavy session if I am driving in the morning.

Ill have 1 pint or bottle of lager with a meal and only if im not going to be driving for atleast another hour. If im not having a meal ill stick to soft drinks.
After nights out is a differnet story tho, if ive been smashed the night before i wont drive until i stop feeling half cut. Although this is atleast 6hrs after i wake up and about 14hrs since my last drink i still reakon ive been over the limit behind the wheel, stupid i know.
I went out with my cousin a while ago, got smashed and stayed at his. The next day we went out for food (it had been snowing) i was following him in my car and when i came round the corner he had lost control and wiped out a garden wall, totalled his clio!! complete right off. Police came and breathalised him. He was .02 away from being nicked the police said an hour earlier and he would be in a cell.

Working a bar at a golf club with loads of old boys who drink a bucket load of IPA and red wine then drive home is a Joke.
Around 3 glasses of wine and a couple of pints of bitter then drives, just because their old doesnt mean they can side track the law.
Pisses me off when younger drivers get pulled up all the time and breathalised, whereas these old boys never do.

I used to say 1 is alright, but then i read a survey and they gave 100 people 1 pint of stella, fat, small, skiny, old and young, 50 male 50 female, i can't remember the exact result but there was a high percentage of men alone that were over the limit. I don't have anything now. I'm going to my xmas party tonight and where we're going has a designated driver scheme, so who ever is driving gets free soft drinks all night, which i think is very good, but i'm not driving so i'm gonna get legless!

IIRC if a licencee/bartender is aware that a Customer is intending on drinking on driving then it is their responsibility to refuse to serve them.
Anyone who drinks and drives deserves get hurt IMO, I've never done it and never will
