I got this model for my Birthday. It's a 1/43 scale Lotus Carlton. I've 'wet and dried' it as much as I can to get any minor imperfections out, so now it is ready for spraying! From the attached pics, you can see that there is some very fine detail on the model e.g. door handles and bonnet vents. I have never made anything like this before and as it was quite expensive, I'm not too keen on messing it up when spraying it. I just wondered how I should go about spraying it?
- 2 very fine coats of primer, then 2 very fine coats of paint?
- 1 very fine coat of primer, then 2 coats of paint?
- 1 fine coat of primer, then 1 coat of paint?

If anyone has a mate either near Bradford or in Shropshire who would spray it for me please could you let me know?! Cheers

Steve, for once I actually agree with you. Imagine giving it a professional painter to do FFS.

Cheers Iaz, that looks ace!
Hey people, cut me some slack! The only reason I gave it to Iaz to do was because I've never sprayed anything like it before and it was too expensive for me to mess up!

...plus my missus bought it for my birthday, so if I'd messed it up, I'dve been in the doghouse! lol

No mate, you buy the model for £40 unmade and unpainted. You then sand it down, paint it, and assemble it, which is what I am doing. Or...you pay about £90 for it assembled and painted by the manufacturer like this...

I know which I'd rather do!
