However, go to www.streetmap.co.uk or www.multimap.com and put in the postcode. Have a look at the name of the street

when the police arrested you in the 1970's, they'd say 'lets be having you', which is similar to 'letsby avenue'

BUT, as the postcode for the South Yorks HQ is actually S3 8LY, this thread is gay.

The postcode Dan gave is not the postcode for the Yorkshire police HQ, they are infact located on Snig Hill, in Sheffield. Letsby Avenue has NOTHING to do with the police, other than someone thinking it would be funny to pretend the HQ was loacted here.

I think you'll find it is a proper address for Yorkshire Police. Whilst it isn't HQ as i've found out. Its for the complaints department

I think the office was there and the street name was an inside joke, but Ordinance Survey thought it was real and added it to the maps
