At the rear end of the train (the carriage furthest from the driving end) there is an area with 4 bike racks, If not then get it on it's rear wheel and stand near the door letting people past.

just stand in the door bit with it mebbe i mean the entrance doors onto the carriage, not the ones that go directly between the carriages

No seats, just bike racks on one side- seats on the other side collapse for more space. We had 2 lots of BMXs 4 deep, 2 onto of the 4, then another 2 on the other side.
Bottom line Kano is that you're ALLOWED to take bikes on trains, whether they have special places to store them is there problem but they cant refuse to let you on.

some ticket controller people can be funny about this kind of thing. i used to ride BMX with my brother and afew mates and we regularly got told that there was a problem with us having bikes on the train. then again i think the problem was more that there was afew of us, not the fact that we had bikes. if you get me

If you find an old train they have huge bike carrages, like a big room and you could probably get about 30 bikes in.
