she started distancing herself from me a lot, always finding something else to do other than be with me. When I asked what was up, she just said she didn't love me anymore.

That's pretty harsh.
At least she didn't string you along, it'll be easier for you in the long run to have a clean break now, even though it must hurt like hell, than dragging it all out for ages.
You can spend some time gathering yourself together, then get on with your life, think about meeting someone new.
Hope it all works out ok in the end for you Phil.

Any financial ties?
Do yourself a big favour either way...don't dwell on it....just forget her and move on

Only financial ties are that I owe her £270... but most of the stuff in her flat is mine, so she's just keeping that... Microwave, kettle, router, tv, sandwich toaster, normal toaster etc etc
it works out, roughly

I'm 22, longest relationship was 4 years, so I kinda understand what you must be feeling.
You'll meet someone though, sometimes the right person comes along just when you need it but least expect it.

If you wear cheap shit deodorant then the chances of finding someone new will diminish by, oooh, approximately 96%

Bummer.
If you can, focus on getting your own pad....by the sounds of it she always had the upper hand there.
FWIW im posting from my missus house...its taken a VERY long time to find somebody im comfortable with.....she has all her house/stuff and so do I....thats the only way I feel comfortable in a relationship these days

Might have been, it's a lot different seeing someone every single day, soon as you wake up, last thing before you go to sleep than stopping by for a night or two.

I worked daytimes, while she was in uni, and she worked 3/4 nights a week in a pub, (CAINS) so i hardly saw anything of her before... and the flat was her dads contribution to her Uni education, while her mum paid her tuition fees. The idea of me moving it suited everyone but me, but I had no choice cos i wanted to be with her

The thing that annoys me most is that I fell out with my best mate over moving in aswell. Not sure if anyone remembers, but there was a thread on here about that too!

As they say dude it'll get better
I came out of a 3 year relationship Feb this year. Was hard for a couple of months but it does get ALOT easier
Just keep busy, see all your mates but dont go out looking for another relationship - few months of fun will work out better

This the one thing that gets to me. I have my own flat and don't really want to give it up for say in 5 years time when she cheats, decides she doesn't love you or whatever. You have gone from everything being in your control and your to sharing. The only way i'd feel comfortable is to know i still have something left of mine -- i.e. rent my flat out. Although going back home and doing noting seems like a good plan to me right now
