Im going to ask for some new tools for Christmas from my parents, partly because theres nothing else I want & im fed up using crap tools that are not up to the job!!

Without going daft (im not going to aks for £££'s because i'll got told to fuck off) what kind of stuff could I tell them to get??

Ive already decided I vant a adjustable torque wrench & one of those magnetic things for retrieving lost bolts

What else should I get??

Ive got a 2 decent socket sets 1 with small bits for 1/4" & one large for heavier stuff - 1/2".

Some decent spanners 1 side open ended & other side ring is a good call though

Halford Pro stuff is very good.

If it breaks take it back and get another. Not bad pricing too.

also get a couple of good toolboxes; the store anything, drawer kind. Kepps your toold safe, locked away and more importantly in one place.

I've spent somewhere in the region of £2000 in the last year on tools and the best investment was my tool chest. The guy I run the business with has more £££s worth of tools than me but they're in worse condition and he can never find them when he wants them

Ratchet spanners are a good buy also.

Only £50 from Halfords. Saves all the 2mm then off, back, 2mm, off.

You get the idea.

Im not quite in the same league as you - maybe want to spend like £200

Ive got a tool board I 'aquired' from work that needs filling, but yeah a tool box might be handy for the rest of the stuff

The point I was making was that out of the £2000 I spent the most worthwhile was the toolbox

Yeah I caught that...organisation is the key factor - no point having good tools if you cant find them

I have the tool board im planning on using...its pretty cool & says 'please return tools after use!'
