was a VW of some description; predated the scirroco shape but was a 2 door coupe/hatch design. Could well have been the predesessor* to the Scirroco
It was one of the *Storm* special models according to the badging, but I couldn't make out the model badge.
IIRC it was pre 'A' reg as well
if it helps anyone it was driving down Portmadog high street yesterday afternoon

Wasnt a scirroco and it pre-dated 'A'-reg
as in reg was something along the layout of "ABC 123D"

no definately wasn't a Karmann; i'd have known that
It was a similar shape to the Scirroco/Corrado but seemed a bit more curved or at least some of the edges were more rounded

It could have been the green one above; however could have been an early passat - they're similar in styling.
I think I saw round* headlamps though

the only thing I'm not sure on is the rear window on the scirroco; the rear windows looked more like those on the passat with the angular cut out??? unless it was an old school mod; passat with scirroco front end

in that case it was a passat; the rear side windows were the same as that in the picture you posted so I'm guessing the Storm badge was a stick on
