I've just phoned Mini-spares to order my new wheels and tyres, and to get advice on what size would be best. I've had to tell the lady I'll call her back cos I haven't got a clue what she's on about

The ones I have now are 'I think' 7x13, they rub against the wheel arches so.................................. I thought I would order 6x12

I asked her what was the standard size, she was on about 5 and a half by 10 What does all this mean, I haven't got a scooby. Came off the phone more confused than when I started

She said no matter what size I get they will still rub if I don't get the bodywork cut

Right I need your help folks, what size would you advise me to get? I know they'll still rub I haven't got a clue

HELP!!!! I want to order them NOW

My Brother has 13" Revolutions on his Mini, not sure if any arch work was done, but they do scrub when going over bumpy roads. It is on Spax adjustables though. His mate had Superlites on a '97 Cooper which required arch work though, Rover were just going to grind it back, give it a coat of underseal and give him a rust guarentee. My Brother did it for him in the end.

7 is the width of the wheel in inches, 13 is the diameter of the wheels in inches.

So the lady is saying the standard size wheels for mini's are 5 and a half inch wide and have a 10" diameter.

Not sure what a good size would be...

as Matty said, the lower number of the two is how wide the wheel is and the larger number is the diameter of the wheel.
If you currently have 7"x13" rims (which for a mini are pretty big imo) then that's a big step over the standard 5.5"x10" - it's almost like comparing fitting 17"s to standard Corsa GSi - likely to be problems.

On Mini's the classic size wheels to go for are 10" rims, but as yours is a modern mini it may require bigger wheels to cover the bigger brakes - so something like a 12" might be the ones to go for.

Sorry if I've confused you even more, I won't venture down the "offset" road

what jr said 12's will look very silly with sportspack arches, I ran 13x7's on mine but had to use spacers and modify the bodywork quite alot.

Best all round with sportspack arches will be 13x6
