Firstyl sorry for the length of this and any spelling mistakes etc.
I work for a business that is in an area that a parking permit scheme is in place. So I have a parking permit to enable me to park while I am at work which I am entitled to as the business is in the area.
I've had a few notes left on my windscreen saying I shouldn't be parking where I park as I dont live in the area. Never been confronted by anyone, only had notes left.
The latest one was this last night.

You probably cant read all of it. But part of it says this vehicle is known to return to the Penrith area at night. I dont live in Penrith but my ex girlfriend does. I remember a few weeks ago I was on my way up there to see her straight from finishing work and there was a car behind me that parks on the street I park my car on and the people in it I have seen coming in and out of a house on that street. I didn't think anything of it.
But the sad fucks were obviously following me!
Now I am entitled to park anywhere I like in this zone and I don't park outside anyones house even though I could cos I know people seem to think they own the space outside their house.
The thing I am most bothered about is that even though I am now going to start parking my car on a street around the corner I am still worried that its going to end up vandalised
I know who the people are that followed me, where they live and what cars they drive so I have enough information to be able to give to the police.
I'm not sure what to do now as I really dont want my car to get damaged. I have kept any notes they have left and I'm wondering if I should go to the police and express my concern that they have followed me and that I am worried about my car being vandalised?
Any ideas?

Go to their door with the bundle of letters, throw it at them & say if it continues you will break there fingers/phone the police - whichever seems most fitting to yourself

Quality James, Just quality
TBH Matt I'd think nothing of it, just someone with too much time on their hands. But if you're being followed and people are watching you then you may want to let the police know.
Also Contact the firm that gives out permits so you know where you stand

I still think you should confront them, or at least leave them a wee note telling them where to go

right, tonight, you go there with a mate, with another car.
you park your car, and get in your mates car, sit there til they turn up, then get out and confront them.
nothing heavy handed, just ask them WTF they are doing putting a note on your car when you have a permit, and if they follow you again, you'll notify the police.
make sure you get a good look at them, and make sure they take you seriously.
but DONT go in all fists and feet, as you'll be worse off.

well do they own the road? do they fuck? Am I parking outside their house? No!
If they were that bothered about a parking space for their cars then they would of bought a house with a drive!
There is always LOADS of free spaces on there anyway so its not like I am stopping them from parking. They always park outside their front door.

If you have a permit and allowed to park there you need to tell them to get off your back politely at 1st....

I haven't been trying to piss anyone off though.
I have been parking by a bowling green, not infront of anyones house as I know some people do think they have a right to park in the space outside their house (even thought they dont). There is always loads of spaces. I could understand if there wasnt but there is

I hate people that think they own the road just because they own a house on it. Park your car, wait nearby & confront them telling them where to go.
Either that or sticker up their brand new audi

There's definately an inference in there that they're going to harm the you or the car. I've no idea why else there would be any reason to indicate that you know the whereabouts of the car when its not parked according to their objection.
My first feeling would be to say it doesn't matter if they write you a note with your full name and address on it, at the moment its just a threat and they'll need to have the balls to actually do something before you need to pay much regard to this scaremongering.
My second thoughts is that it would only take some misguided bravery to actually damage the car and you're left with a bill, and the type of person who makes threats like that without actually having either good reason or any degree of negotiation (ie. note is anonymous?) is probably the type of sly-ass coward who would think they've rectified the issue by keying your door.
That just says they're a bit thick and can't hold a conversation. Perhaps I'm being old fashioned.

Yeah the notes are always anonymous.
They never confront me which I would rather they did.

Hang on a minute - let me get this straight:
you work for XYZ company, and to park your car on/around their location you need a permit - which you have on display?
However, people have taken exception to you parking in that area (despite you having a valid permit to do so) because you don't live in that area? (And the people who are upset by this have followed you to find out?)
Have I got the gist of that right?
If so I would park my car there and leave a note of your own on your windscreen or even better on the windscreens of the people doing it (if you know 100% sure who they are) which basically states that you have the correct permit to park there, and as a result you are entitiled to park there - and there is nothing they can do about it, however what they aren't allowed to do is to make these veiled "we know where you live" type threats and if they continue you will take the appriopate legal action.
I'm sure you could have them up for intimidation beahviour and / or stalking.
Also mention that if they would like to discuss this matter then to call you on your work phone - I bet you get no phone calls from them.

I've just come into work and told them and they have said just go straight to the police rather than try to confront them myself. My car is parked on another street today (not outside anyones house) but still worried it might get damaged by these nobheads!

In future if you can park where your permit allows then park there - you are fully within your rights to do so.
Does your employer have cctv overlooking these parking spaces?
Also do as your employer says and notify the police - just incase anything does happen.
And don't worry about them doing anything to your car, chances are they are hoping their scare tactics will work and won't have the guts to physically do anything to you or your car - like most people they can probably talk a good talk but when it comes down to it they are all mouth and no trousers.
