Try & get some CDJ's as IMO there is no point in getting Turntabels now day's.

If you really want to do it dont go buying budget stuff as you'll only want to buy more better gear when you get better. Personal i would go for Pioneer CDJ 800 MK2's, you can get a pair for around the £500 mark. Mixer you can pick up a decent one for £300. It's not a cheap game, i spent £2000 on my gear

Using CDJ's is just the same as using Turntables you have to use the same princerble on the CDJ's as you would Turntables. You have a jog wheel on CDJ's which in theory acts as a vinyl platter. It's pretty easy to get to grips with, it's just training your ear's to know the income tune your bringing in is faster or slower then the master track (the one which is playing live). Some people pick it up in a few months some don't pick it up for years some dont pick it up at all, you just have to remember not to give up as that's the worst thing you can do. DJ'ing is all about practice.

Been doing it for about a year and a half. Picked it up pretty quickly, had a few gigs as well which is pretty good for the amount of time i've been DJ'ing. It's something i want to do as a career but it's pretty hard as everyone in the world wants to be a DJ

i have got stanton str8-100's (turntables for you who dont know) and a behringer vmx100 mixer been messing about on the decks for a fair few months now
i wouldnt get cd decks as i like old style vinyls and shit but its upto you suppose the plus side with CD decks is that most of them read MP3 disks and you can connect them to a laptop which means u can have al your mp3s on a laptop or on a ipod etc

Direct Drive users a motor. Belt driven decks use a belt to move the platter

Yeah alot better. You'll notice the difference if you go from belt to driven. When using belt driven its very hard to keep the two tunes matched as it will always go out of time, as the belts cant keep at a certain speed. Direct you can keep them intime for much much longer & the two tunes wont always drift out.
