Lets say you sold a car, but now wanted it back but had no idea where it was located or who owned it. Is there any way of finding out where the car is located, legally obviously.

If you work for the DVLA, or the Police, it's easy.

Other than that, the information is hard to get.

There are other companies that are able to obtain details other than Police or the DVLA...such as people chasing you for parking tickets (eg. NCP)

you used to be able to do it through the dvla and cost about £17 iirc.not sure if youcan anymore though

James, yes, it has an extra owner on it now too, so it might not be as local.

I would have thought it would be ilegal for them (dvla) to disclose a keepers address to a member of the public?
