As im sure some of you have been aware ive been away for ages working!
After a shit weekend at SPA and a DNF and a 5th, i rebuilt the car with a refreshed engine, box, clutch etc and we headed to monza.
We left monza with 2 wins and headed the championship again!
Last wednesday we headed to PAU in france for the final round of the championship!
We needed to win the 1st race to secure the championship!
Anyway got the car right in testing and my drivers were in pole during qualyfying untill a rear upright broke and the car ended up in the wall!
At this point i had 2.5 hours to rebuild the car ready for that race!
So i managed to get the front and rear corners fully built up and the car quickly cleaned and just made it in time for the green flag lap!
so we start 3rd, stick with 3rd untill the pitstop (30mins) where Jenks gets in and we leave the pits in 2nd place! Now the leader is 8 seconds ahead and we have to beat this guy to win! So rob sets some thundering lap times and within 8 laps he is on the arse of clive richards. For the next 15 minutes they battle trying every move in the book, both missing corner apexes and ending up on the grass not to let each other by. Jenks manages to pass the car, and pull away slightly. 5 laps later the Richards car retires with a crackes sump!
So we just have to cross the line to win which we did!
So we then became 2006 Caterham CSR champions, and im the engineer for that car! So it was my 1st championship
Along with that we also secured the UK superlight championship at Silverstone 2 weeks prior!
Here are some pictures from Pau Arnos

AND:
Jenks also broke the top gear lap record in a CSR that i built
who needs a koeninsegg when a 40k caterham will beat it - video is here

the only thing with the caterham vid is what tyres it on? If they're not road legal tyres (i.e. track tyres) could make it a tad unfair comparing to every day road cars. I wouldn't be suprised if there were certain race cars that could lap the track quicker than every day supercars with nice interiors etc

All of the cars that take to the track are on track day tyres, toyo 888, yokohama a48 etc,
we were running a dunlop equivalent
