Is it possible to be mates with some after a relationship?
I was with my ex for about 4 years, he was a complete prat and i eventually got rid of him but he got intouch yesterday just wanting to be 'friends' and how he's had a really hard time and just got out of prison (this proves he's a prat) i don't have any feelings for him but i feel i should be there for him as a friend? what do you think?

It can work, I am friends with an ex who is now going out with a mate. It only works if there's totally no feelings and you like them (why do you wana be mates with him if he was a gibbon ( ) anyway?

i just feel i shoudl be there to help him now as we have the history together i also feel partly to blame for him getting in trouble with police as he you'd to say he only sorted himself out because of me and as soon as i broke up with him he went back to it all

He carnt blame his bad behaviour on you splitting up, he is just being unfair and making you feel guilty, if he was Normal he would not get locked up at all

My ex and I tried to be friends - we'd been together for 5 years and were very good mates for several years before that.

however after about 4/5 months when I started seeing other people; she decided to get quite explicit with detail about her sordid liasons while she was with me and immediately after.

This didn't bother me too much as was seeing someone else by then - however she didn't like it when I told her some home truths regarding her treatment of people - especially how she drives her mum to drink! that was kinda that - we havnt spoken in over two years and I saw ehr the other week for the first time walking through our local town; she'd put on about 4/5 stone; got really spotty and greasy and completely ignored me as I walked past with my new missus

so in my case no you cant be friends with ex's

It's very possible to remain friends with an ex.

However, IMHO you don't want to remain friends with this particular ex

i'm joking Chelle

imo it never works out. There's just too much history there you have to deal with and you're constantly reminded each time you look at them.

Best to walk away in my experience

I think you shouldn't ask corsasport.co.uk - you know the guy and considering it is entirely dependant on what he's like make your own judgement based on that, not what a group of people behind their monitors say.
