ok just want to double check this is right and all that needs doing to be fully legal

No 1: change car colour on log book

No 2: Change cc on log book

No 3: Put engine code on log book somewhere??

Obviously its declared as engine transplant on insurance

Is that everything to be legal

thanks very much just wanna be safe

You should be ok then mate. Some insurers ask for an engineers report to check everythings been done properly and its safe. If they didn't ask then you'll be fine.

yes, and the CC, and if the cars changed colour and if youve taken the back seats out. just look at the details listed on the logbook, if anything isnt the same, change it.

when i changed mine with the DVLA, I was advised to get a letter from a reputable garage just specifying that the engine converion is road legal etc etc and confirming engine codes! otherwise i was told they may want to check the car them selfs, i suppose for stolen bits etc?

as for driving the car you wont be able to as they will make you take your old tax disk down to the DVLA, they will give you one back with the correct CC etc on it, then you can drive it and they will resend you your log book!

Mate drives his Nova insured as a XE. Police chatted to us one day and we told them about the engine, showed him around and he rolled his eyes when we told about trying to tell the DVLA Said that's typical.
