I'm gonna weigh my featherweight nova this morning (hopefully).
So I thought I'd start one of the ever popular 'guess the weight threads'.
For anyone that doesn't know it see here

Thats pretty impressive i'd worry about the Nova getting taken off the track by cross wind ,
JR's corsa should be pretty close when he gets all his bit on his...well off i guess which is not bad for a Corsa.

I've already planned the next 30kg+ of weight saving.
The speed holes in the front bumper have gone in favour of a GSI bumper (more aerodynamic) and the rear bumper holes help to reduce drag

Just read the nova link page.
Not a fan of all the holes, or the black bonnet tbh!

Fair enough!
Its not an art project tho, more of an engineering one

That's cool, everyone is entitled to an opinion!!!
TBH I'm unsure about the bonnet, the front bumper has no holes anymore (GSI one now) and the rear bumper is being cut away for a diffuser anyway!!!

Self adhesive number plates would save another half a kilo I recon . Presume the rear side windows are PolyCarb?
Are the bumpers both plastic? Maybe change them to F/G Copies? I know standard bumpers weigh much more than you think. Holes in the bumper irons?
Still impressive, and even better whn you think its 250+ BHP/tonne!

Cheers!
I'd love some FG doors and wings, but nobody makes em. I got hold of one FG door a while bk but the quality was poor so i sold it on. I did find a company that does FG roof skins a while bk too, think I may have to do a search for them again

Try and get a weight of the doors befor eyou buy them. I'm sure people have found little difference between a hacked up corsa door (all the strengthening inside the door/car) and a F/G item, so i imagine the nova door being similar .
As for wings, they used to do an "x-track" style kit for the Novas that had standard looking, but much wider arches built into them, and that kit was F/G .

My old Mk1 Fiesta hill climb car tipped the scales at 670kg without using a hole saw or anything daft so well done for achiving a 660kg Nova.
