My budget is about £500 but if needs be will spend more for a reputable brand.
Thanks

Firstly, any particular reason you're getting a 27" and not a 32"? Space constraints?

It's just that you'll probably find you have far more to choose from if you make the leap to 32".
It's only 5" Jamie
Also, if you look at some LCDs, the plastic surrounding the screen can sometimes be quite big and chunky, there are loads of LCDs out there that have much smaller housing.
I'll have a look for you now. Got nothing else better to do

exactly
Have a look at the Toshiba 27WLT56, a bit over your budget but might be worth a look

what you need to do at the moment is try and get to Comets/Currys and see a few models that you like the look of.
Then get back home and google them, find some reviews etc. Then try and find the best price.

A lot of people i know recently are making the upgrade to HDTV with no real reason. Ie all they do is sit indoors and watch Standard Definition broadcasts on Freeview. Don't watch Sky, don't use it for PS or Xbox etc..

Its the same as asking what the difference is between a vaux and a Merc really, you get what you pay for but theres nowt wrong with a Vauxhall.
My dads got a bush and it certainly does the job with no problems to date.
