I never realised how bad my old ones were!! Driving it now feels so balanced and sure footed! Before going over speed bumps or dips in the road would sometimes pull the wheel to the left or right Was surprised how much of a differance its made!
Heres to another 3 years before I change them again!

ours dragged the car all over the road with worn tyres. Felt like really bad, intermittent alignment, paired with tramlining

Tyres loose their shape when they start to get old whuch can give all kinds of wierd feelings. I had some which made the steering pull to one side in notches. Swapped front and back wheels and the back of the car went from side to side instead! They were about 7 years old I think.

I went from rainsports to BF goodrich profilers......
then quickly back to rainsports as the BF goodrich were shockingly bad. they locked up far easier than the rainsports and were awfull in the wet and in the dry they didnt lose grip progressively they would just slide round corners.

the way different people judge tyres is vastly different. Also depends on driving style and ability and of course the car. My car (the corsa gsi) gets pushed to the limit all the time, hence the cage, buckets, 4 pots and engine/suspension mods and it needs tyres to match. BF goodrich profilers just arent up to the job with higher performance cars IMO
I work with a company called MT Motorsport and as you would expect, the cars are used on the track and are pushed to the limit. Tyre shops and manufacturers always give the company tyres to test and as yet none have been as good as toyos (the track ones) in the dry and Uniroyal rainsports in the wet.

yes, thats the ones.
I fitted them and ran the car for 100 miles with them on. they were such a huge steb back in performance I sold them on and bought some proper tyres.
