I know this thread is worthless without pics, but i'll tell you anyway.
Had my first 20 plus on Saturday
I got down to Fryers pool at about 9.30, and baited up my swim, caught a 7 pound common. It was really windy and pissing down, so I decided to take 5 mins and roll a biff at about 1.30.
I moved my hookbait next to the reeds out of the wind while busy. Looked at it, and the float was bobbing. I thought this was a little beggar pecking at my bait, so i struck it.
BLOODY HELL, the carp proceeded to dart off to the oposite end of the pool. It took me 20 mins to land it, and snapped my landing net in half.
I weighed it at 26.4 pounds
Took me 2 years to get a carp that big.

I put out a bed of sweetcorn with a few tutti fruity boilies.
Hookbait was Cathedral City Mature yet mellow cheddar cheese.
I caught the 20 about 10 ft away from my swin, close to the reeds.

every fish i've had over 20 has been on sweetcorn, i still think its the best bait going, cheap, easy to get, works, bright
never tried cheese myself, hair rigged?
reeds = i always chuck a bait just under rod tip, and one straight out

Agree with that. I mainly use it for a groundbait though.
The cheese was just on a hook. It's a good bait. Stays on for a long time and is easy to hook. Where i was fishing is only about 7 inches deep.
This pit is only anout 3ft at the deepest, so i am surprised theres carp that big in there. An 18 pound common was caught last week, but mine was a mirror.

Wouldn't go ahead, unless it has a GSI kit and speedlines.
