1968 Shelby GT500

This particular car was one of only 1,140 1968 GT500 Fastbacks made. The car has been the subject of a comprehensive American restoration in the 1990’s and has been in a large private European collection since that time. Its big-block V8 is married to a four-speed 'Top Loader' manual gearbox and has been subject to a £16,000 recent engine rebuild. The car has all the Shelby accessories and is known to the SAAC. Shelby Mustangs and Cobra’s are very much in vogue in the US, with the cheapest in the January BJ auctions making over £100k.

The history file contains some period magazines/articles on GT500’s. The car appears to have been fully restored in America prior to the Kruse Auction in 1995 and has still kept it’s original interior. The drivers door build spec tag indicates that the car was originally Acapulco blue metallic/black vinyl interior and manual, built on the 26/02/1968. The car also has the correct Shelby vin plates and Ford vin numbers in all the right places.

Price £77,500

1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante X pack

A two owner car having covered a documented 27,000 miles. The car has a complete history file with all the correct books and tools. More importantly the car is the ultimate specification being a manual car with the factory delivered X pack engine/suspension upgrades. It is finished in the colour scheme of Rolls Royce Chichester blue with a dark blue roof and blue piped parchment interior. The car is a truly unmolested low mileage genuine car and sensibly priced.

Price £78,500

I'd choose the V8V over the GT500.

ok, the mustang needs to be a 67 fastback, not a Shelby. IMO

I've never liked the Shelby rear end.

That looks ropey, non-shelby like. It would have to resemble exactly eleanor of Gone in 60 seconds or it'd be a hardtop amv8

Both cars are flawed.

The Vantage has no roof and the 'stang is LHD.

I'd have to opt for the Vantage because I absolutely hate LHD cars and i'm English, but I hate convertibles also so I wouldn't enjoy myself.

Tin top Vantage please.

Or a RHD Mustang... no, actually, both please.
