My brothers mate is a Sniper in the Marines. Aparently there is a bullet called a "50 cal" which if shot PAST the side of your face, it takes half of your face with it
Is this true?

.50 cal and the British don't use .50 cal round, the Americans do.
The .50 is used in the Browning M2 machine gun and the Barrett Light 50.
Thanks for your time.

Have you seen Miami Vice yet? The beginning of that, two guys with rifles called "Barrett 50 Calibres" use them to destroy a couple of cops, shoot their arms off etc, HUGE bullets.
IRA used to use them for long range assassinations, only a handful of people skilled enough to control them though.

There is also a bullet that as soon as it enters the body, it splits at the bottom and slows down, so the bullet does not come out of the other side of the body. Aparently the Police use them here.

Shelly any bullet can be made to tumble when it enters the body, you just need to make it hollow tip.

The .50 Caliber Sniper Rifle
.50 Caliber Sniper Rifles were designed to attack parked or landing aircraft, armored personnel carriers, rail tank cars, bulk fuel storage, and concrete bunkers.
.50 Caliber sniper rifles are powerful enough to puncture armored limousines and can be used as tools for assassination.
.50 Caliber Sniper Rifles have effective ranges up to 2,000 yards, or in other words, 20 football fields laid end to end. Deer hunters generally shoot at ranges of 150 to 200 yards.
Osama bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda network bought 25 Barrett .50 Caliber sniper rifles in the late 1980s.
.50 Caliber ammunition is the largest round available on the civilian market and highly destructive armor-piercing, incendiary, and explosive rounds are easily available.

I would have thought they would have been safer, not as much of a risk of hitting someone else
