I've been looking for a de-cat for my little engine; but no supprises there arent any and the "sports" cats are stupid money. However i have got a second hand cat emptied it out and the performance and fuel consumption have jumped; just went to the isle of man and on the way there i did about 400 miles to a tank. Top speed has increased; I know that there are a few people here that have a 1ltr it only cost me £5.80 for the cat from a garage plus the fitting; so a cheap performance up grade!

The cat on a 1ltr is on the down pipe from the manafold, and will both the cat and mid box removed still create enough back pressure?

top end for 1.2 16V is 101mph. I've never had mine above 80 though.

I had mine at 108mph but that was downhill. On flat ground i've had 98 tops. In a 1.2 16v

good god no... down hill i've had mine to 120mph (with de cat) 112 with cat i know the 1ltr is high geared and thus 0-60 is soooooo slow but the 1.2 16V is supposed to be 13secs quite a bit faster

i was thinking of de-catting my1L like u by smashing the inside of the cat is it worth the hassle, wats the noise like and does it use much more fuel.i've no centre box and full stainless system from the down pipe

i decatted my 1.4 sport once, didn't last for long, seemed to get no worthwhile gains, was too noisy, and failed MOT
