Mutiny as passengers refuse to fly until Asians are removed
Passengers refuse to allow holiday jet to take off until two Asian men are thrown off plane

British holidaymakers staged an unprecedented mutiny - refusing to allow their flight to take off until two men they feared were terrorists were forcibly removed.

The extraordinary scenes happened after some of the 150 passengers on a Malaga-Manchester flight overheard two men of Asian appearance apparently talking Arabic.

Passengers told cabin crew they feared for their safety and demanded police action. Some stormed off the Monarch Airlines Airbus A320 minutes before it was due to leave the Costa del Sol at 3am. Others waiting for Flight ZB 613 in the departure lounge refused to board it.

The incident fuels the row over airport security following the arrest of more than 20 people allegedly planning the suicide-bombing of transatlantic jets from the UK to America. It comes amid growing demands for passenger-profiling and selective security checks.

It also raised fears that more travellers will take the law into their own hands - effectively conducting their own 'passenger profile

predicament? two asian guys looking at their watches and the floor. typically british to look at someone foreign and totally get their race/religion/nationality wrong!!

you are right though mass hysteria, or mass paranoia, probably insitgated by one person on the plane, rumours then spread like wildfire.

Not in control, we have only been capable of powered flight for a little over 100 years and we are no means masters of it.

I think flying is still very primative and very dangerous.

A jumbo jet is a bus with wings and 4 rockets attached to it, as simple as that and as dangerous as that.

I heard a statement once, goes like this: -

You are more likely to be killed by your trousers than in a plane crash.

But, most people survive plane crashes, it's the aftermath that kills people.

That statistic is the most flawed one EVER.

You get on a plane once a year to go on your holidays, now the chances of something going wrong are ridiciulously low. Now you drive your car everyday, and more than once a day, its obvious you are more likely to crash in your car.

I blame the Americans.

Before we flew out to Corfu I had a few drinks to send me to sleep, little did we know our plane got delayed 7 hours By the time it came to taking off I had sobered up.

Again, the Americans fault.
