just done mine mate. Need to do a 4 day course and sit 2 exams, they re easy enough out of 40 and i got 37 in both of them, there not difficult!! Once you have you certificates you need to apply to the SIA (who are feckin useless) for your liscence. That takes 10 weeks to come through. All together expect to pay £400 for everything!

Yes this is true, on cost terms though if your going to go work for a club/pub whatever ask them to pay and just dock your wage.

just thinking about a career change, my mate has offered me a job as a bailiff, 12k basic with a 25% of all collections. along with this he is starting a Bouncers firm, im getting bored of what i do now and the money could be better for the amount of work i do.
anyone on here do either of the above can give their opinion on what the work is like and if the amount offered is reasonable.
cheers

down here in london i wouldnt take any less than £18 p/h. would tend to stay away from the "other" interests, was into that back in college and had a lot of agro so told myself i would steer clear.

everyone i know that does it absolutly loves it! although the SIA training is excellent, it does obv help ALOT if you have the build for it! iv no intention of ever working the doors, only doing mine for self defence, its getting more and more customery for pub managers to be SIA trained, plus will be great for when i go into police

its not like that up here, seen a lot of bouncers getting severe kickins from groups of lads, 5-6 bouncers vs 20 young lads most with bottles or belts. even seen 1 getting ran over cos he was trying to stop a car . fuck being a bouncer for just 15 quid an hour
maybe diff down there though
