Im with HSBC.. im getting a charge of £50 as my account was overdrawn last month.. I have no overdraft limit. Bascically, they're taking the £50 out on the 25th. But that will put me below 0 again, so I will then have to pay £50 next month too.
If I ring them, and tell them the problem, do you think they will let me off?

I have a £50 overdraft, phonebill came out and took me upto £80 overdrawn. I applied for a bigger overdraft and was refused (bearing in mind i have mortgage, credit cards, store cards that have never defaulted)
So basically said, i need a bigger overdraft just in case, £35 is disgusting to charge people, I've aplied for a bigger overdraft and you refused me. If you charge me i will close my accounts (I have 4) and take my money somewhere else
Im a good arguer

Nah. Since all this stuff has come about that banks can't charge you I started to read up on it and you can claim back all the overdue charges over the past 6 years
I couldn't be assed doin since years and just did the past 2yrs. I worked it out that I was owed £700 (i used to be horrendous with money ).
So I used that letter template that's floating around and filled in my details and they wrote back to me with an offer of £375. It took like 3 weeks of letter back and forth so I couldn't be assed anymore, signed and accepted their offer

For you, Kyle, anything
http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=295096&page=3
There was a massive thread about it all. The letter is about half way posted by Bart. Not the one I used, but similar.

Problem I had was if a direct debit bounced and the cash wasn't there.
They'd charge me a 'referer fee' £25 plus and overdue fee £30, so I was gettin charged £55 everytime a Direct Debit bounced (used to be a lot )

cheers brett... but I got charged loads with Natwest, and ive now closed the account. If I was to claim it back they'd be able to send it in check? Infact, would they even be able to see my account and what was charged as its now closed?
