How fast is the space shuttle capable of flying at?

Under its own jet propulsion, not with the rockets attached to the side for take off.

so thats a weight of 109,000kg's, being propelled by almost 1.2million pounds of thrust

Plane travelling faster than the speed of sound, so you will see the plane before you hear it.

For example, if a sniper is 1 mile away from you and fires at a target, you will see the muzzle flash and the bullet will hit the target before you hear the crack of the rifle as the bullet is travelling faster than the speed of sound.

Its when the air builds up on the edges of wings and on the nosecone.

The plane then splits it's way through, this is the boom.

(Think thats right)
