Ive just managed to get on the digital freeview website and says my postcode doesnt have freeveiw.
Do I take it back, or just keep it for when I can use it?
I got it at a good price so was thinking of keeping it, but seems a waste, by time I get it in my area, prices might have dropped
Thoughts?!

It will most likely still work. That postcode thingy is bollocks and said the same for me. My Freeview used to receive all the channels, etc before i got sky.

Cos I havent got a video and I might want to record things, picture and sound will be better from digital box, than cable!

But you could get all the channels for free
Digital ain't all it's cracked up to be. First spot of bad weather and you're fucked.

So the question is, do I keep it at the cheap price I got it, or do I sell it/take it back?

You should be able to get it to work, though you probably wont be able to get channel 5 or any of the top up TV channels.

A signal amplifier will not help you. If you amplify noise then you get even more noise. A good digital ariel will help you though.

My area isn't due to receive Freeview until 2012, but I ignored that and got myself a £20 box from Argos, and I can receive 48 channels!

not always, its not like analog where it would increase noise on the picture - you either have a singal or not! And with digital, having a booster usually helps a lot!
Though you could get a decent high gain indoor aerial if the outter one is cack! Saying that though, if you can get NTL, why dont you? With it being cable you have no problems like sky/freeview in bad weather and im sure they do a package which is cheap as chips!
Might as well keep it, if it doesnt work ebay it!

I would just return it and get cable + VCR/DVD recorder if you MUST record things.
