then gave my smooth boot handle a quick paint to see all the imperfections - still needs quite a bit of work

also painted fuel cap...

spur of the moment thing the fuel cap...
though it might look good with the wheels, make the car more stealthy too
plus the alloy one wouldn't look right, with no other silver on the outside of the car

yea, halfords special's
see how long the finish lasts and if i like them on the car..
if i do like them, and they finish dowsn't last, i'l get them properly referb'd

you should have sprayed a thin coat of lacquer so that it blends with the paint...well I did that...then lacquered...still looking good...well they are black, don;t need to clean etc...

dont usualy paint stuff, jsut gave it a go, i will remember that for the next time i do it though abdus
thats the main reason for the colour, dont need to clean...
also give the car a more street sleeper look, when on the move or at night

i wouldnt laquer with the paint and how can you do that with cans!
leave them for an hour and then laquer them all, also when applying the basecoat (colour) do it in think layers and allow to dry in between coats and then you will get a much better finish!

sorry just re read what you said, u just confused me when you said "you should have sprayed a thin coat of lacquer so that it blends with the paint" but i read it wrong!
i thought u ment put paint in the laquer!

thining about leaving the center caps off,
not put them on yet, due to needing badges...
but i kinda like the look of them like that, remind me of compo mo's with 6 spokes though
