... you brace yourself when you see a pothole in the road, even when your on the bus.

.....you walk backwards when you leave your car, checking for a new angle

......you carry a rag in your pocket for cleaning brake dust off

.....you enjoy sitting in traffic in town centers

....you have more pics of your car then your family on your computer

... you hold your breath every time you drive past a Police car, and hope they dont notice your German style number plates.

.....you've got a car designed to seat 5 but nobody's allowed in the back seats due to 'Rubbing issues'

.......you try n persuade everyone that dubs are the best.

......your always looking for a nice spot to take a picture of your car

..... your always looking for a modded dub but in a euro way

---- When you think its cool that your car scrapes the ground all the time.

Definitions of Dub on the Web:

A "dub" is a duplicate copy of an existing tape.
www.wgcu.org/watch/hdtv_glossaryofterms.html

To copy by playing back on one machine and recording on another.
www.tvcameramen.com/glossary01.htm

The duplication of an electronic recording. The dub is always one generation away from the recording used for dubbing. In analog systems, each dub shows increased deterioration. Digital dubbing produces copies almost identical in quality to that of the original.
www.saskschools.ca/curr_content/cpt/main/definitionfolder/definitions.html

To remove or trim down the comb, usually done on Game Roosters when showing
www.pekinbantams.com/definitions.asp

Most commonly, a copy of a film or tape. It can also mean making a completely new soundtrack, as in dubbing English for a foreign film. A dubbed tape is also called a dupe.
www.ascd.org/advocacykit/glossary_med.html

To make a copy of a video recording.
www.bavc.org/glossary.htm

The mother of all electronic-culture trends. Derived from reggae; discovered accidentally by producer King Tubby; fully developed by Lee "Scratch" Perry. Dub is also an adjective: take a house title, strip it of most of its lyrics, add a lot of bass and some studio effects (echoes) and you'll have produced a dub version.
www.socan.ca/jsp/en/resources/sound_advice/Renaud.jsp

In the most general sense, to dub is to copy, although in film sound vernacular it has acquired many similar shadings. It can refer to the act of replacing dialog (usually via the ADR process), either in the original language or in a foreign language. "Dubbing" is also the common name for re-recording, at least insofar as Hollywood and New York are concerned.
www.northbeachpost.com/handy_glossary.html

A copy of a magnetic recording.
primepost.com/gloss.html

[1] Process or result of duplicating a videotape in its entirety. [2] Editing technique whereby new audio or video replaces portion(s) of existing recording.
www.dvd-makers.com/public/123.cfm

The process of making a copy of a soundtrack, with the result using the same type of medium. Dubs differ from transfers in that the latter involve copying from one medium to another. Another type of dubbing is also known as re-recording. (See re-recording.)
home.earthlink.net/~vigilant/stajGloss01.html

A miss hit shot in such a way that the ball travels only a very small portion of its intended distance.

(aka: "duff", "top") a badly misplayed shot, usually associated with the ball never leaving the ground (or taking a small hop and not traveling any real distance) resulting from hitting the top or side of the ball or hitting the ground well behind the ball.

A dub is a wheel or rim that is 20" in size (The term "dub" was derived as a slang term for twenty, from "double dime" or two tens.) Some can be chrome or polished aluminum-alloy. "Dub two"'s are 22" wheels or rims styled similar to standard "dubs". "Dub fo"'s are 24" wheels or rims styled similar to "Dub two"'s" or standard "dubs".

No Jules, i've heard of spinners being referred to as 'dubs' and i've heard the word used in other vague contexts regarding modified cars.

I had at first assumed it was a Vee Dub thing, but it seems not.

I'd like a definitive meaning of the word, and why the hell a shiny alloy with a spinny bit would be called a 'dub'
