Do this!

Sounds awesome experience and pay. Ive seen the pics of 1/4 mile racing in dubai with all the rich oil millionaires turning up in ferraris and mclaren slrs etc...
If I had an offer like that I'd take it!
whats first year pay like? surely can't be too bad considering 2nd year pay.

original job advert
quote:
We are moving to Dubai in Sept and I am looking for a graduate to join me there or possibly even here in Cannes before then.
Brilliant Boats is a full service design and naval architecture consultancy; so we do everything from the inside out. All work is
carried out in 3D from the beginning from styling and volumetric studies through full 3D construction models. We deliver Net Part construction packages and full assembly logic to yards in the Ukraine, Dubai, Egypt and the US. (A few pics attached)
Current projects include:
11m sports day boat for semi-production in alloy (SBS eleven) 2 x 250 bhp
12m neo-classic vedette for production, wood and composite, 2 x 350 bhp
50+ knots
15m Low Drag Displacement Cruiser, steel and alloy, hydraulic drive
58m Megayacht in alloy, 3 x 3000 bhp, waterjets (launch 2007)
Underwater Hotel, 24 rooms, bar, restaurant, conference facility, steel
and cell cast acrylic (splash 2008)
Past projects include:
MY Forty Love: tri deck motor yacht, FRP hull, Alloy superstructure, 2 x
1350 bhp
Blubay 72': Fast Sailing Cat in carbon fiber and PVC foam
Blubay 100': Fast Cruising Cat in carbon fiber and Nomex
Projects in the hopper:
16m SBS (alloy) with 3 x 500 bhp and surface piercing legs, 60+ knots
18 and 21m versions of the LDD Cruiser
72m Fast Megayacht, alloy 2 x 3000 bhp + 10kbhp turbine, 30+ knots
This is clearly a design led office, and as a result we tend to attract clients that like to think a little ouside the box. It is also an engineering office, and outside the box projects typically require challenging engineering solutions. The bottom line however, is that this is a business as well , so we need to make money in addition to cool things.
The successful candidate will be:
Creative, with excellent attention to detail, organised and methodical
Self driven, so able to work productively without constant supervision
Competent with typical industry software including Acad, Maxsurf, Rhino, 3DS as well as the usual Office Suite and Project. I don't expect all of these immediately, but an ability to hit the ground running with something is a considerable asset.
A good communicator. Excellent English is a necessity, other languages an advantage
Able to make intelligent decisions, including asking for help when needed
Able to work to deadlines, and flexible enough to show up when required
to meet them
Holders of a passport and full UK (or equivalent) drivers license
Be able to start by the end of October in Dubai, or earlier in Cannes.

I'd be booking my ticket mate seriously.
Mate of mine is over there now doing some sort of building regs/design job using CAD etc he's on about £35k, but don't forget you don't get taxed and it's not that expensive to live out ehre apparantly.

Dubai is more like the West than the rest of the Middle East. Countries like Saudi are incredibly restrictive to people from the West. Dubai isn't, so I'd definitely go for it!

lol
plus tbh I know one of the other three guys is working for his dad's company - really family business in Belgium so I dont see him being interested; the second person talks like a rude/wide boy so I should be in with a relatively good chance
