All you flash fookers with HD!!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/5099402.stm
t was 14.03 pm on Saturday 10 June, during England's opening match with Paraguay. Beckham was poised to take a vital free kick.
As the rest of the team jostled in the penalty area, I suddenly heard a loud roar from the pub down the road.
For a split second I was puzzled, but then realised these were England fans celebrating a goal, which according to my set had yet to be scored.
Sure enough, I looked back at my HD set and saw Beckham's kick soar into the back of the net.
The truth dawned, the HD picture was delayed by a second or so. That may not seem much, but it is enough to spoil your enjoyment of a match.

It's delayed on any format that isn't analogue though.
He must be a bit of a dimwit to not have realised this.

Not sure whether he's an idiot for not knowing this, or for staying in to watch it

My dad bought a superb tv for £3k with HD etc
Sky turned up to fit it and said they couldn't do it they needed help. Date has been put off twice since then and my dad has gone nuts as he bought it just for the world cup.
He said get it sorted i pay £70 a month + prem plus season ticket and i've been with you for 20+ years.
Anyway they called again yesterday to say sorry the date will be put off again (after world cup) obviously my dad has gone totally nuts and cancelled sky.
Sounds like he isn't the only one cancelling either, all because of HD

Digital is always behind analogue, he is a very silly man for not knowing this.
As far as i know there isnt a longer delay due to it being HD, its just better to watch

Are Sky only showing the World Cup on HD then? I thought World Cup coverage was only on BBC and ITV

BBC are showing all of their games in HD if you're lucky enough to own both an HD TV and Sky HD (or equivilent receiver).
All matches are available through normal Sky as well though.
