I know that this is a Vauxhall site, but what do people think of the Ford Fiesta ST ?
Looking to change my Corsa 1.8 for a newer car, and looked at a SEAT Ibiza Cupra 1.8T on Saturday, but the interior was appalling quality, very cheap, flimsy, and didn't even line up properly.
So I thought maybe a Fiesta ST as the build quality is very good.
Anyone know if the 150BHP can be increased easily? Is it the same engine as in the old Focus ST 170? If so can it be increased to 170 easily?
Any comments welcome.

I'd have the ST over the C SRi anyday. I actually quite like the ST, where as the C SRi looks a little bland for a range topping model.

my mum has a 1.25 fezzy mk 6 with a set of eibach spraing and 17s and the handling as awsome, beta than any corsa i have had by far, u slide off the seat before the car even things of loosing grip!!! mums had no power tho so i can imagine one with larger engine being so fun to drive!!!

I can see what you mean about the interior quality, its not great but far better than any Corsa C I have been in. My main gripe is that the plastic seems real soft, and marks easily - wouldnt call it shocking, and mine all lines up

the plastic in mine is soft but i think its because it is actually far higher quality plastic than this solid knobbly crap.
Thing which said it for me about ford interiors is when i had a 2001 Fiesta Mk5 courtesy car, if had the same stalks and dashboard, clocks as my old mans 1990 Escort!

No offence mate but the Corsa SRi 1.8 is not even close to being in the same league as the fiesta ST. Out of them inclding the Ibiza I'd have the ST as the ibizas are getting a bit long in the tooth IMO
Drive a Fiesta ST into a tight corner and foot to the floor on the way out and you'll know what I mean Plus it has more toys

I don't know how you can compare those two to the Cupra!!
Out of the Corsa or Fiesta I'd go with the Fiesta. Far superior.

you would be suprised - my mate has one and gives the CTR and run for its money in gear racing - from a standstill they are relatively slow though

Fezzy ST would eat any standard Corsa round the twisties and although they only have 148bhp and get whipped by 106/VTS they are still much better than a Corsa IMO.

The figures don't look the best, but I bet in real world driving its actually pretty nippy.

Thank you for all your comments.
I can honestly say that when I borrowed a Ford Fiesta ST demo some months back the interior was a much better quality than the SEAT Cupra I viewed Saturday.
I know for a 2.0L it's not the quickest, but its only 0.6 seconds slower than the SEAT.
Pretty cheap for what you get.
