What do you think of it?
Basically they're guna be putting loads of 'disturbing' images on the packets instead of just the text warning that they have on them now!
Personally, I think it's too far. If you wana buy cigarettes than I'm sure you already know of the risks and I don't think you will want to be seeing these images every time you go for a fag! It's just another example of Britain becoming a nanny country!

theyve been going on about it for ages
and i agree, if youve bought them, youve chosen to, cant see the point in putting random pictures on to put people off
i chose to smoke when i was younger, not due to advertising, or the lack of warnings, i new the risks, but i still did it
i have given up now, but again, not because of the warnings

Personally I wouldnt want to see pictures of lung cancer etc as my Mum died from fatal lung cancer just over a year ago.
Even seeing "Smoking causes fatal lung cancer" on fags when your at the pub brings back memories

I cant say that I smoke, But I dont want to see it.
People will still smoke them. at the most they will just put white lables over the pictures.

In my opinion they should legalise everything, slap all the warnings on and an age limit.
I have no sympathy for the people/actors in the smoking advets. People have know since the 50's that smoking is bad for you. Let them get on with it.

However, i do believe the images are a good idea. even if the shock factor alone is responsible for 0.5% of people giving up, then im for it

Another reason why it's not good. They don't think about people that have been effected by these diseases

I personally do not think that they will work, people who smoke will not take into consideration the pictures, i dont think they will anyway, they will be more interested in actually smoking the cigarettes instead.

I think its awful having them pictures on the packets, although probably will put alot of people off, but then again its only on the packet and you dont have to really look at the packet for that long when you get the cig out!
Although i think the baby picture is awful

my nan went the same way, whenever i think about it im an idiot for smoking and if i was reminded so graphically every time i picked up a pack, i'd probably quit

exactly it wont work and every bodys packets of fags in pubs etc will have these pics on. So effecting people like me who dont smoke and still not stopping the people that do.

I smoke and i dont see the point to be honest, i dont even read whats on the packets at the moment, its a packet, thats it.
I think its sick that they are putting these pictures on the packets, it will affect people who dont smoke. They dont want to see pictures like this on a daily basis.
Stupid idea, wont work either way

I beleive people who smoke should pay more in NI contributions etc due to the increased burden they place on the NHS etc..
Makes me sick that people will take up resources of the health service which could be used in more needy areas all because they choose to kill themselves by smoking...
